How to choose the wrong rubbers / blades for table tennis

Feel free to enjoy whatever you feel comfortable rubber or blade based on your emotional needs & not functional needs
Fell free to use whatever you want to use just to look cool because your favorite pro is using it.
Feel free to use whatever you like because manufacturers have convinced you to do so with their brilliant & clever marketing gimmicks.
Feel free to use whatever you like because that is what ITTF thinks is best for you.
However also keep in mind the following simple facts
In most cases pros are highly unlikely to be using the rubbers & blade made for everyone else especially the amateur hacks. In most cases the pros are probably using a highly customized rubbers & blades , sometimes behaves entirely different compared to a public version of the same.
In most cases pros are successful DESPITE what they use. This in no way implies that these pros are using the best possible rubbers & blades needed for them & this results in them playing below their full potential.
A young pro in a lot of cases has no freaking clue as to what is the best rubber & blade for them despite their overwhelming talent making them a super success. Often, their coaches make this choices for them & it is possible the coaches are also wrong.
The wrong choices effect the pips players the most, anti players the next & spinny inverted players that least.
Therefore keep in mind that a pro can do magic with less than perfect equipment . But an amateur thinks they also can. In almost all case they cannot.
What is worst , some amateurs try to completely switch to a different playing style which is just not their natural playing style.
90% players think they can be two winged loopers because Ma Long or Waldner can. But only 10% can
90% players think they can be a chopper like Joo Saehyuk . Can they ? Being a modern defender is a fashion statement these days. Do any of these hackers remotely have any clue what it takes to be a chopper (or a two winged looper or a short pips hitter) ?
Everyone thinks they can do chop magic like Hou Yingchao or Ding Song or Han Ying just by using short pips. Can they ?
Everyone thinks they can be like Mima Ito simply by using short pips on backhand or be like Mattias Falck by using it of forehand . REALLY ?
